Our Leadership and Governance Structure

IGD is a research and training charity which sits at the heart of the food and grocery industry. It has a wholly owned Trading Company that provides commercial services. The profits from the Trading Company fund the charity. Our Trustees of the Charity and Statutory Directors of the Trading Company are some of the industry’s most experienced people and have a blend of skills and experience. Trustees exercise oversight and scrutiny in relation to IGD’s charitable activities, including monitoring progress against the targets which the Trustees set and ensuring IGD’s charitable activities sit within its constitution. The Trustees and Statutory Directors also ensure that IGD’s trading is sustainable and agree the annual Budget.

Our senior leadership team comprises our CEO and her direct reports.  They are responsible for the day to day management of IGD and carrying out the activities agreed with the Trustees of the Charity and Statutory Directors of the Trading Company.
